Text Log format: User programmable.
- Interfaces : NMEA 0183, NAVSTAR 2000, Rockwell-Collins (NavCore V), and custom. COM1 - COM4.
- NMEA 0183 - 4800 baud, no parity, 8 bit, 1 stop bit. RMC, GGA, GLL. AUX channel any NMEA sentance, or proprietory formats.
- Navstar 2000 - 110 baud, no parity, 8 bits, 1 stop bit. GLL
- Rockwell-Collins - 9600 baud, odd parity, 8 bits, 1 stop bit. Msg.103
- Custom: all parameters user defined.
- NMEA output: If selected Portable Navigator can output a position derived from the navigation receiver, at a user programmable rate in almost any NMEA format. Also derived values such as speed using VTG etc., can be created as NMEA sentences. In XTE mode XTE and BWC sentences are automatically generated. Also a WPL sentence can be generated when a waypoint is selected.
Minimum Hardware Required:
Hewlett-Packard 1000CX / 200LX Palmtop PC +2 Mbyte RAM.
Recommended Hardware:
25Mhz 386 SVGA or higher spec PC.
Recommended GPS Receivers:
Garmin, Trimble, Magellan, Rockwell-Collins, etc. etc. Portable Navigator will work with almost any Navigation Receiver, GPS, LORAN, or DECCA, that provides an interface in NMEA 0183 standard. Also supported is the earlier NAVSTAR 2000 format.
Optional:
YEOMAN Plotter. Uses proprietory Yeoman $YMWPL sentences to control Portable Navigator's chart digitising operations.
