This expert package combines all the survey features of version 4 with additional display features including perspective chart views with night vision showing AIS target vessel lights derived from the target's navigation state and regulation lamp angles of view. It also provides animated chart waypoints showing the light flash sequences of cardinals and other buoys. Together, in night vision mode, these features provide a realistic representation of the view at night from your point of view or from the point of view of any other vessel. The view can be "heading up" or in any direction. While carrying out hydrographic surveys the perspective view makes following survey track lines much easier. Also turning the work boat and lining up on the next track line is much more intuative with a 3D view of what's going on.

Based on Portable Navigator Survey but with the addition of an analogue-to-digital hardware front end this package provide a survey tool particularly suitable for magnetometers. There are two supported digitisers: PICO and DATA TRANSLATION, this latter being high speed - up to 30 samples per second at 16 bit resolution. The PICO is 24 bit resolution at up to 1 sample per sec. more suitable for deep penetration magnetometers where greater accuracy is required. Support for up to 4 analogue input channels is provided with the ability to specify the transducer array geometry. Data is logged and displayed in real time together with the position of each transducer accurate to 9 places of decimal minutes of arc. Absolute position accuracy depends on the GPS receiver used e.g. Trimble, Leica, etc. and position interpolation between fixes for higher speeds of acquisition is provided. This makes PN Logger suitable for use with higher speed survey vessels, e.g. hovercraft, in difficult environments such as marshland, beaches and intertidal zones. Applications include oil pipeline site inspection and clearance.
